Introduction on the Logos from Stef:
The Logos is the latest board in my trilogy of boards designed around the concepts of Pneuma, Ontos and Logos.
The name "Logos" comes from it's an appeal to Logic and Reason. A means to counter an emotional bias or opinion with facts and structure.
This befits the design well since compared to my earlier designs the design of Logos focusses more on productivity and a more industrial design language.
Similar as with the Pneuma I tried to design the board design philosophy that a product shall be interesting from three distances: far away, regular usage distance, and up-close.
Design features
The board consists out of a top and bottom piece that house the split 60% and Numpad pcb/plate assembly. The top and bottom create two seprate chambers to lower the amount of unwanted resonance and both pcb's are connected through a ribbon cable that hides between the bottom case and weight.
The large angled weight is mounted to the bottom to give the board it's heavy mass and give space for a small logo. Aside from this small logo and the visible screws on the bottom the back of the board contains engravings with the key specifications of the board to further lean into the industrial design language of the board.
As a finishing touch, a subtle split line creates separation between the typing section of the layout and the numpad area without disturbing the overal shape of the board.
